Lorem Ipsum is not gibberish invented by web designers. It is scrambled Latin from Cicero's De finibus bonorum et malorum, written around 45 BC, jumbled by a typesetter in the 1500s for a specimen book. Because it has realistic word lengths and sentence rhythm but no readable meaning, reviewers judge the layout instead of getting distracted by the copy, which is why it remains the standard filler for mockups, wireframes, and CMS templates today.
How to use
- Set the Count: how many units you need, from 1 to 500. Typed values outside that range are clamped automatically.
- Pick the Unit: Paragraphs, Sentences, or Words.

Choose the Format: Plain for raw text,
or HTML to wrap the output in
<p>tags. - Toggle Start with "Lorem ipsum…" to control whether the output opens with the classic line.

Click Regenerate until you like the
rhythm, then copy the output or download it as
lorem-ipsum.txt(orlorem.htmlwhen HTML format is selected).
Worked example
Need two short paragraphs for a blog-post template? Set
Count to 2, Unit to Paragraphs, Format to HTML,
and leave the classic opening on:

Switch back to Plain and the same text appears as bare paragraphs separated by blank lines.
Notes and edge cases

In Sentences and Words mode, HTML format wraps the
output in a single
<p>element. - Paragraph lengths vary (three to six sentences each), so Regenerate gives a different visual rhythm every time, which is useful for testing how a layout handles uneven blocks.
- The Count field can be emptied while you type a new number; it snaps back into the 1-500 range when you leave it, and generation always uses the clamped value.
